NOTE: A master's degree is not required to be enrolled in the PhD program. Further, master's students are not necessarily eligible for tuition support.
For acceptance into the research-based (Plan A) program, an applicant must directly contact the faculty member whose lab they wish to work in to secure a lab assignment as well as the recommendation of that faculty member for enrollment. Stipends are generally not available to Plan A students but may be offered depending on funds available through the research projects they serve.
A coursework-based MS (Plan B) is available which does not require placement into a research lab. Financial support is not available for this program; however students may participate on a part-time basis to allow for outside employment.
If you are an undergraduate student at Colorado State University interested in participating in the BS/MS program, please see: http://www.bmb.colostate.edu/bsms_new.cfm.
