Applying to the Graduate Program
The PhD application deadline for fall-semester enrollment is the second Monday in January. Applications should be submitted by this date to receive full consideration for support from the Department. However, early submission is encouraged, as the Department’s application review process begins in early December. Applications received after the January deadline will be considered on a space-available basis.
NOTE: Although the deadline for application to the Graduate School is April 1 for fall admission, the Department must begin the selection process well in advance of this deadline in order to satisfy staffing and research goals and other departmental requirements. Therefore, the Department deadline takes precedence over the Graduate School application deadline.

After submitting the Online Application to Graduate School you will be directed to submit additional information to our department. A Department-specific Supplemental Application is required in addition to the online Graduate School Supplemental Application. Also required are three letters of recommendation to be accompanied by the Department recommendation form.
