Research Associate I/II

The College of Natural Sciences at Colorado State University seeks a Research Associate I or II that will work in a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology laboratory. The RA I/II will prepare buffers, stock solutions of various reagents, and growth media for bacteria and yeast cells, as well as culture bacteria, yeast and human cells using solid and liquid media. The Research Associate I/II will obtain pure DNA by mini-prep and maxi-prep processes, introduce DNA into cells by transformation or transfection procedures, purify recombinant proteins from bacteria, and perform PCR and cloning. This person will be responsible for running agarose gel and SDSPAGE electrophoresis for DNA and proteins, carrying out western-blotting experiments, culturing primary mouse bone marrow cells, and performing confocal fluorescence microscopy among other varied research related tasks.

Applicants should possess a Bachelors of Science degree and have practical laboratory experience.
